Welcome to Edinburgh Pentlands Parish Church

Edinburgh Pentlands Parish Church, which was recently formed by the union of Juniper Green Parish Church and Colinton Parish Church, is a Church of Scotland congregation in the south-west of Scotland’s capital city.

Everyone is welcome to our services at Colinton and Juniper Green churches. Tea and Coffee are served after the Colinton service in the Swing Café, and before the service at Juniper Green church, in Hall 1.

The Swing Café

Located in the Dell Room in Colinton church buildings, you can find a lovely setting to enjoy a coffee with friends or a bite of lunch at The Swing Café. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am – 2pm.

CHRISTMAS CLOSURES – 2025

The Swing will be closed on Saturday 29 November and Saturday 6 December for those two days.

It will then fully close from Friday 12 December at 2pm for Christmas, re-opening on Tuesday 6 January at 10am

Children's Groups

Open Door Cafe and Toddler Group

The Open Door Toddler Group runs from 10am – 11.30am on Tuesday mornings during school term time. It meets in Juniper Green Church, 496a Lanark Rd in Hall 1. The group aims to provide a safe, friendly environment for babies and pre-schoolers and the big people who look after them!

It runs during term time only & will be closed on Tuesday 16 September and 14 October for school breaks

The entrance used for the toddler group is from Woodhall Avenue (at the back of the church). If you come from Lanark Road please walk around the church on the right hand side to find the back door.

Church Groups

The 'Lit'

The meetings and events for the 113th season of Colinton Literary Society gets underway on Wednesday 15 October 2025. All meetings for The Lit are held in​ Dreghorn Loan Hall, Colinton. Tea, coffee and wine are served from 7:30pm. Each talk or event commences at 8pm and the evening finishes at around 9pm.

Guild of Friendship

The Guild meets fortnightly on a Thursday afternoon from September till June at 2pm in Hall 2 at Juniper Green Church.

The next meeting will be on Thursday 13 November 2025.
